Escape to Athena is a 1979 British WWII action comedy starring Elliott Gould, Richard Roundtree, Sonny Bono, Claudia Cardinale, and Stephanie Powers as a group consisting of resistance fighters and POW's who fight to escape a German-occupied Greek island while plotting to recover hidden treasure. The film is notable for featuring three actors who had appeared in James Bond films: David Niven as archaeologist Professor Blake, Roger Moore as Major Otto Hecht, and Telly Savalas as Zeno, the monk turned resistance fighter. The film was directed by George P. Cosmatos, who would later go on to direct such films as Rambo: First Blood Part II and Tombstone.

A Walther P38 fitted with a suppressor is also carried by Zeno (Telly Savalas). Sergeant Mann (Michael Sheard) also uses one. Judson (Richard Roundtree) holds it on him after using a magic trick to take it from him.
