Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Wolf Creek is a 2005 Australian horror film about three backpackers who find themselves held captive in the Australian outback by a sadistic serial killer. Based somewhat on the true stories of serial killer Ivan Milat and the murder of Peter Falconio and the assault of his girlfriend Joanne Lees. Sequel was shot at 2013.
The following weapons were used in the film Wolf Creek:
Rifles
Remington Model 541
One of Mick Taylor's (John Jarratt) primary weapons seems to be a vintage Remington 541 or 581 rimfire rifle chambered in .22LR. It is used by Mick to terrorize his victims and later briefly by Liz (Cassandra Magrath).
Coincidentally, the 541 was discontinued in 1999, when the film takes place.
Tikka 595
Mick Taylor's long-range sniper rifle seen during the infamous road scene appears to be a Tikka 595 in .308 caliber. It is not the Remington seen earlier, noted by the stock and magazine, and the impressive distance the shot is fired from. It seems Mick uses a .22 to toy with victims but a more serious sniper rifle for hunting victims.
Its appearance is quite accurate for the film; Tikkas are popular in Australia, along with Sakos.
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
Mick uses a Double Barreled Shotgun of unknown make and model. It is never seen closely enough to identify.
Handguns
Taurus Model 689
When Liz returns to the torture shed, she comes across what appears to be a stainless steel Taurus revolver equipped with a 6-inch barrel and Pachmayr grips. This gun is probably a Model 689. Inexperienced with guns, she has difficulty finding the cylinder latch to open the cylinder and then attempts to load the weapon with what appear to be ballistic-tip .308 rifle rounds, and then loads it with the correct shells, probably .38 Specials or .357 Magnums. It can be identified not as a similar-looking Colt revolver by its cylinder latch, which does not match a Colt revolver with a ventilated barrel rim.
