Work In Progress This article is still under construction. It may contain factual errors. See Talk:Dying Light for current discussions. Content is subject to change. |
Dying Light is developed by Techland the developers of Dead Island, but it is in it's own series and not a sequel to that series, A first-person zombie sandbox game. An outbreak occurs in the fictional Turkish city of Harran. Firearms are even rarer than in the Dead Island games but there are a few. Models are detailed enough to have engraved trades but they're all fictional.
Pistols
SIG-Sauer P228
The "German 9mm Pistol" is based on the SIG-Sauer P228; oddly, it appears to have a Beretta trademark, which is Italian.
Korriphila HSP-701
The "American 9mm Pistol" is similar to several pistols but none American. It's German Korriphila HSP-701.
Shotguns
Double-barreled Shotgun
Your standard double-barreled shotgun.
Assault Rifles
SIG SG 556
The SIG SG 556 appears with a classic handguard and a short magazine.
Fictional Carbine
Whilst the receiver is an exact copy & paste of the above rifle's, it is more likely that this was because of resource-saving by the developers than any conscious attempt to imitate an SG-552/3. The handguard is reminiscent of an ACR's.
Launchers
FN Mk 13
A Turkish soldier's rifle in the introduction cinematic comes equipped with an under-barrel grenade launcher similar to FN's EGLM.
Mounted Weapons
PKT Machine Gun
T90s in the intro help enforce the quarantine.
Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1
Mig 29s regularly patrol the skies above Sector 0. Despite the deployments being attributed to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, they seem to use Russian-made vehicles when Turkey uses exclusively NATO equipment in real life.
