He started his cinema career in 1957 and appeared in many popular movies and TV series including Czterej pancerni i pies, The Pub "13 Chairs" (Kabachok "13 stuljev"), The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath! (Ironiya sudby, ili S lyogkim parom!) and The Age of Mercy. In 2003 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia.
