The Client (1994)

The film stars Susan Sarandon as a small time lawyer who tries to keep a young witness alive as he evades the mob as well as an ambitious District Attorney (Tommy Lee Jones). The film also marked the first of two John Grisham novels to be adapted by director Joel Schumacher (the second being 1996's A Time to Kill). The novel would later be developed into a television series that aired on CBS from 1995 to 1996.
