Loosely inspired by an actual event, the film features an all-star cast which includes John Belushi , Dan Aykroyd , Warren Oates , Ned Beatty , Tim Matheson , Slim Pickens , Toshirô Mifune , Christopher Lee , Treat Williams , and Jaws Murray Hamilton and Lorraine Gary . The film garnered mixed reviews and while it did make money, it was not the blockbuster hoped for.
