Ransom is a 1996 thriller directed by Ron Howard and stars Mel Gibson as an airline tycoon whose son is kidnapped and the dramatic circumstances that arise when the ransom payment is not paid. The film is actually a loose remake of a 1956 Glenn Ford film of the same name.
