The Expendables 3: Difference between revisions
The Expendables 3 is the third installment in The Expendables film trilogy, which began with 2010's The Expendables and continued with 2012's The Expendables 2. The 2014 sequel was directed by Patrick Hughes and Sylvester Stallone returns as the leader of his team of mercenaries, who this time is forced to confront the co-founder of The Expendables, an arms dealer named Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). In the third film, several more action film icons in addition to Mel Gibson make their Expendables debut including Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Robert Davi and Antonio Banderas.
The following weapons were used in the film The Expendables 3:
Barney Ross uses a pair of Kimber Gold Combat II pistols as his sidearms in the film, the same Kimber Gold Combat II pistols that he wielded in the first film. In this film, the Kimbers' grips feature small "Expendable" emblems on both guns. The same symbol is also seen in Barney's toothpick knife.
Yin Yang (Jet Li) is seen dual-wielding Springfield Armory XD9 tactical handguns while clearing out the rooftops with Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger). This footage is only available in the Blu-Ray unrated cut.
Heckler & Koch P30
Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) is seen firing a Heckler & Koch P30 at a gun range and presumably carries it as his sidearm throughout the film.
Krug (Ivan Kostadinov) can be seen with a USP Match holstered throughout the film. He notably pulls it during the ambush in Bucharest while protecting Stonebanks (Mel Gibson).
Makarov PM
In a continuity error, a tank crewman's P226R briefly turns into a Makarov PM before he is shot by Toll Road (Randy Couture).
Glock
During a fight with Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), an enemy commando pulls a full-size 3rd gen Glock pistol of unknown caliber.
M1911 Variant
During the ambush in Bucharest, Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) is very briefly seen firing a nickel or chrome 1911 of unknown make and model.
Smilee (Kellan Lutz) commandeers an Arsenal Shipka from a dead soldier and uses it during the finale.
Heckler & Koch MP5KA1
Doc (Wesley Snipes) is seen with an MP5KA1 during the finale of the movie. Thorn (Glenn Powell) is seen using an MP5KA1 with a PDW stock (it is not the MP5K PDW as it lacks the characteristic 3-lugged extended barrel).
Heckler & Koch MP5K
One of Stonebanks' bodyguards is seen briefly with an MP5K in Bucharest, as distinguished from the MP5KA1 by its sights.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Yin Yang (Jet Li) is seen with an MP5A3 when he and Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger) are clearing the roof. Mars (Victor Ortiz) is also briefly seen with one when leaving the building. It has an EOTech sight.
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is seen with a Heckler & Koch G36K, fitted with a G36V-style export sight. This weapon is also seen in the hands of Stonebanks' men, as well as being briefly carried by Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren).
Throughout the film, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) carries a rifle consisting of a Noveske 16" Infantry upper receiver and a Colt lower receiver (as the weapon is seen firing on full auto). His rifle is mounted with a C-more sight, a Surefire M900, and Magpul BUS, as well as occasionally mounting a suppressor.
M4A1 Carbine
Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Gunnar (Dolph Lundgren) carry the M4A1. During the ambush in Bucharest, Smilee (Kellan Lutz) and Luna (Ronda Rousey) use a suppressed M4A1s fitted with Trijicon ACOGs and what appear to be a thermal or night vision optics. The same weapon is picked up briefly by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) on the highway. An M4A1 is also used by Mars (Victor Ortiz) as part of the CornerShot weapon system. Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) temporarily commandeers a modified M4A1 during the finale during the "Christmas Gauntlet" scene available in the Blu-Ray Unrated Cut.
Heckler & Koch HK416
Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) carries a Heckler & Koch HK416 with a 10.4" barrel, mounted with a C-more and a Surefire M900. The HK416 is also seen in the hands of Galgo (Antonio Banderas), with a 14.5" barrel. Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) appears to use a customized HK416 during the ambush in Bucharest, although it is not seen very clearly.
AK Variants
Multiple AK-47 variants are featured, utilized by Stonebanks' henchmen. They are occasionally commandeered by the Expendables, namely by Caesar (Terry Crews) and Toll Road (Randy Couture) in Mogadishu, and by Galgo (Antonio Banderas) and Luna (Ronda Rousey) during the finale.
SIG SG 552
Toll Road (Randy Couture) is briefly seen with a SIG SG 552 during the finale. In a continuity error, it is shown both with and without an EOTech sight.
Unknown Rifle
Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) is seen firing an unknown rifle at a gun range. It is only seen once and is fired in three-round bursts.
Shotguns
AA-12
"Trench" Mauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is seen using an AA-12 shotgun fitted with a weaponlight and a drum magazine as he did for the climax of the second movie.
Mossberg 590
Mars (Victor Ortiz) is seen with a Mossberg 590 during the finale. It has a heat shield, extended magazine tube, SpeedFeed stock, and two shell carriers.
Machine Guns
Handheld M134 Minigun
A mockup of a hand held M134 Minigun is seen used by Hale Caesar (Terry Crews). In several promotional images, he is seen wielding an actual minigun. It is notable that in this film the characters talk explicitly about the ammunition reserves only lasting ten seconds, which is clear once Caesar fires the weapon. This is much closer to being realistic than other films that depict a Minigun being fired with ammunition stored in a backpack.
FN Minimi Paratrooper
Toll Road is seen carrying the FN Minimi Paratrooper.
The GP-25 is seen mounted on AK-47s used by Somali militiamen.
Milkor MGL Mk 1L
Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) briefly carries the Milkor MGL Mk 1L, as previously seen in The Expendables 2, during the finale. It is also uses by one of Stonebanks's men to fire on the team's truck upon their escape from Bucharest.
Heckler & Koch XM25
The Heckler & Koch XM25 is being demonstrated by Mars (Victor Ortiz). Upon closer inspection, the weapon appears to be a mockup constructed around an L85A1.
FGM-148 Javelin
An FGM-148 Javelin is seen during the arms deal between Stonebanks and Vata.
CornerShot
Mars (Victor Ortiz) uses a CornerShot fitted with a suppressed M4A1 carbine during the ambush in Bucharest.
Hand Grenades
Several members of the team use hand grenades during the finale, notably Lee Christmas (Jason Statham). The training versions of both the Mk 2 hand grenade and the M67 hand grenade are seen.
Automatic Grenade Launcher
Doc (Wesley Snipes) commandeers what appears to be an automatic Grenade Launcher mounted on the armored train during the intro.
