The Dead Zone (1983)

The Dead Zone is the 1983 feature film adaptation of the Stephen King novel. The film was directed by David Cronenberg and stars Christopher Walken as a schoolteacher who discovers that he has gained psychic powers after awakening from a coma. The film's cast includes Tom Skerritt and Martin Sheen. The Dead Zone was also adapted into a television series that starred Anthony Michael Hall and aired for six seasons in the US on Paramount Network Television and the USA Network.

Sheriff Bannerman (Tom Skerritt) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 28 as his sidearm. Deputy Frank Dodd (Nicholas Campbell) also carries one as his sidearm, his mother Henrietta Dodd (Colleen Dewhurst) later is seen firing it.
