It seems to have a large grip, indicating it's a double-stack/high-cap variant. Also there's a demarcation on the frame that might be the frame bulge for the high-cap autos as well. The gun doesn't appear to have the larger sights of the 2nd gen autos though, so I'm thinking it might just be a Smith & Wesson 59 rather than a 459, but I understand you could get the lower profile fixed sights on the other S&W autos as well, so, I'm not sure. There is a pin placement on the frame that could definitely ID it, but that detail can't be determined on these images. : EDIT - Got newer and better images (Thanks, Ben). The one with the profile shot looks like it has the frame bulge more towards the rear, so I'm gonna go with listing it as a Nickel 59 for now. StanTheMan (talk) 22:28, 8 July 2014 (EDT) |

S&W Auto
I changed the listing but I'd like an opinion on an exact ID. I agree it's a NOT a 5904, as it and other 3rd gen S&W autos weren't released until well after this film was made.
