::I assumed it was the other way round, with the condition 2 being a newer fad due to the fact that the early 1911s didn't have a firing pin block making condition 2 unsafe, as opposed to the Series 80 onwards which do. Unless it is stated in dialogue that he carries it in condition 2 (I have never seen this) I wouldn't read too much into it, as it isn't like they have actually loaded the pistol for him to carry it around on set and it will likely just be how it was when they took it out of its case. --commando552 (talk) 05:47, 8 July 2014 (EDT) | ::I assumed it was the other way round, with the condition 2 being a newer fad due to the fact that the early 1911s didn't have a firing pin block making condition 2 unsafe, as opposed to the Series 80 onwards which do. :::I just saw an episode where he carried in condition 3. He exited his truck, drew, and chambered a round. I'm hoping the writers will address it eventually. --Funkychinaman (talk) 11:59, 8 July 2014 (EDT) | :::I just saw an episode where he carried in condition 3. Revision as of 02:17, 9 July 2014
They still haven't corrected little things like gun registration in Wyoming (there is none) or Walt carrying his M1911 in Condition 2. At least if they want to make it a character thing, they could at least explain WHY he carries in Condition 2. Does anyone read the books? Do they explain it there? --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:40, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
- I did see a message board that said he carries in Condition 2 in the books as well, and that it's an old-school thing. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:41, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
- I assumed it was the other way round, with the condition 2 being a newer fad due to the fact that the early 1911s didn't have a firing pin block making condition 2 unsafe, as opposed to the Series 80 onwards which do.
