Off Limits is a 1988 murder mystery set during the time of the Vietnam War. Willem Dafoe and Gregory Hines co-star in the film as agents with the US Army's Criminal Investigations Division who are assigned to investigate a series of murders involving prostitutes who also happen to be young mothers. The film's cast also includes Fred Ward and Scott Glenn.

Colt Detective Special (3rd Generation)
Sergeant First Class Buck McGriff (Willem Dafoe) carries a 3rd Generation Colt Detective Special as his sidearm in the film. As the film takes place in 1968, this particular generation was not yet available.

The M1911A1 is used by the serial killer in the film. M1911A1 pistols are also seen in the hands of Sergeant First Class Buck McGriff (Willem Dafoe), Colonel Dexter Armstrong (Scott Glenn) and Master Sergeant Dix (Fred Ward).

The M60D is used by the doorgunners on a UH-1 "Huey" helicopter.
