Used to be a superstar

Besides me any of the other frequent contributers remember when Burt was a Superstar? I remember the late seventies when a Burt Reynolds movie was not only a big deal but they made money - lots of money.Hooper, Smokey and the Bandit, Sharky's Machine, and so on. Times change. A few weeks ago they were advertising a low budget sword and sorcery movie on the Sci-Fi channel and Burt Reynolds was in it. He wasn't even identified in the commercial though they did show a clip of him. Boy oh boy.

He made some pretty dumb career choices. I remember reading about how after he finished Boogie Nights, he fired his agent because he regretting taking the role so much. He also turned down a role in P.T. Anderson's follow up, Magnolia. Boogie Nights turned out to be the best movie he's made in what, two decades? --Funkychinaman 03:34, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Yep he does seem to engage in career suicide dosen't he? It's hard to believe he was once such a massive star. Amazing. --Jcordell 06:52, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
