As described in the novel, the Bisley Model of the Colt Single Action Army is carried by Jimmy Blevins (Lucas Black). Jimmy mentions that it's a ".32-20" and Lacey Rawlins (Henry Thomas) says that's a rifle cartridge. When asked where he got that gun, Jimmy says he got it "at the gittin' place" (a line also used in Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men).
Single Action Army "Artillery"
The "Artillery" model of the Single Action Army is wielded by John Grady Cole (Matt Damon). He later is seen using the barrel of the revolver to cauterize a wound.
M1911A1
A nickel M1911A1 with pearl grips is also wielded by John in a shootout with Captain Raul (Julio Oscar Mechoso) and his men.
