The Hunger Games is a 2012 sci-fi/action film that is the feature film adaptation of the first book in The Hunger Games series of novels. Jennifer Lawrence stars in the film as Katniss Everdeen, a young woman who takes part in the Hunger Games, an annual gladiatorial fight to the death. The cast also includes Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, and Elizabeth Banks.
The film series would continue in 2013 with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
