I really like this website, but I think all armaments, munitions should be included not just portable, infantry weapons. Like here in U-571, the torpedo type used, the deck guns of both destroyer and U-boat should be included, also the anti aircraft gun on the U-boat scene is important also

Not all of us know that stuff though. Learning all of these firearms takes lots of time and experiance, and some of us just don't have enough room for things other than small arms. - Gunmaster45

Thompson with Stock

I think that the stock installed on the Thompson are modified M1 Carbine stock.

However it is not entirely wrong that a task force has submitted a variation on a Thompson to a specific mission in close spaces. Also they need to carry guns under his coat. - Charly Driver

In my opinion it would have been more historically accurate to have used the Thompsons with buttstock detached.--Carl N. Brown (talk) 11:47, 27 November 2012 (EST)

M1911?

I think the "M1911" is an M1911A1, you can just make out the curved spring housing in the first cap. --AdAstra2009 22:27, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Was that chosen specifically to give Rabbit a goatee using the sight, or was it just a happy accident? Evil Tim 03:52, 30 September 2011 (CDT)

Just a happy accident, I guess. I hadn't thought of the goatee before, lol :) --Warejaws 04:31, 30 September 2011 (CDT)

M1 Garand or M1903?

I just watched the movie again yesterday and I noticed that during the scene were they were being brought in to be briefed and to see their U-Boat, What looks like either M1 Garands or M1903 springfields are seen slung over the backs of MPs. The scene is slightly at a distance so its kinda hard to tell.

I don't have the movie handy, but I have seen WWII Signal Corps source photo showing MP armed with Springfield at a checkpoint in France Dec 1944; so if the movie shows MPs with Springfields it would be historically acceptable. --Carl N. Brown (talk) 11:44, 27 November 2012 (EST)
