The Browning M3 aircraft gun was a .50 caliber M2 machine gun that was modified for use as an aircraft gun that could be fired remotely by the pilot or gunner of a helicopter or light fixed-wing aircraft. Developed at the end of WWII for use in jet aircraft the M3 machine gun had a rate of fire of 1150-1250 rpm.
