Edward Malus (Nicolas Cage) carries a Beretta 92FS throughout the film, in his role as a police officer. He is seen removing it in its holster several times, and also checking its magazine. Malus draws the weapon towards the end of the film, only to discover it is empty. Bizarrely, the bullets removed from it appear to be .45 ACP.
