Blue Thunder is the 1984 television adaptation of the 1983 film. The series was not a continuation of the film, but instead followed a special unit within the Los Angeles Police Department that uses the helicopter to fight crime. The cast included Dana Carvey as well as former NFL stars Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith. The series premiered in the same television season with the similarly themed Airwolf, but only aired for 11 episodes in the US on ABC.

M61 20mm Vulcan Cannon
As in the film, the M61 Vulcan is the main weapon of the Blue Thunder helicopter.
Handguns
Heckler & Koch P9S
A P9S is the sidearm carried by Blue Thunder's pilot, Frank Chaney (James Farentino).
Heckler & Koch VP70
The Heckler & Koch VP70 is the service pistol carried by "Ski" Butowski (Dick Butkus) and "Bubba" Kelsey (Bubba Smith) in the series.
Colt Detective Special
The Colt Detective Special is used by several characters including Blue Thunder's flight engineer Clinton "JAFO" Wonderlove (Dana Carvey).
Rifles
Heckler & Koch HK33A3
"Ski" Butowski (Dick Butkus) is seen with a Heckler & Koch HK33A3 in the series premiere "Second Thunder" (S1E01).
