When I saw the vest pictured in the Jericho and Winchester 1300 I thought they were a bizarre choice. Then I read the text saying that it was set in the 80s which pleasantly surprised me, as the vest is correct for that period being the (then) current British army body armour, the Mk. 2 "INIBA" (Improved Northern Ireland Body Armour) vest. Just curious, when they are testing the vests are they depicted as being generally "bullet proof", or just the plates? If the soft armour stops the shot, then this is incorrect as the soft armour is pretty much only "frag proof".  --commando552 (talk) 17:04, 4 August 2013 (EDT)

:No, they didn't stick to the plates. Frankie was shot point blank with the Jericho, and the welt was on this right pectoral. Charlie shot Sammy with the shotgun, shooting from the hip. I didn't get to the commentary, but the director was VERY insistent on making sure the clothes were period specific. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:26, 4 August 2013 (EDT)

Ballistic vest choice

When I saw the vest pictured in the Jericho and Winchester 1300 I thought they were a bizarre choice. Then I read the text saying that it was set in the 80s which pleasantly surprised me, as the vest is correct for that period being the (then) current British army body armour, the Mk. 2 "INIBA" (Improved Northern Ireland Body Armour) vest.
