Crime Story was a television crime series co-created by Chuck Adamson and executive produced by Michael Mann. Set during the early 1960's, the series was based on cases that Adamson investigated during his time as a Chicago police detective. Dennis Farina (who also was a Chicago police officer) starred in the series as a Chicago police detective in the Major Crimes Unit who was determined to take down the young ambitious mobster Ray Luca (Anthony Denison). The series premiered in 1986 on NBC and for the first half of season one, the show was set in Chicago. In the second half of season one, the detectives became Federal agents and followed Ray Luca to Las Vegas. The remainder of the first season and all of season two took place in Vegas.
