If someone could point out the distinguishing features between the model 59 and the second generation 459 it would be appreciated. -Anonymous

Adjustable rear sights, that's all. I've held them side by side before and that's the ONLY difference I could see. If there were any internal or metallurgical differences, I could not determine that by a brief outward inspection. MoviePropMaster2008
Old question, but there is a visible difference apart from the sights. On the 59 the double stack frame step is behind the slide stop pivot pin, whereas on the 459 the step is ahead of it. This is the more reliable way to differentiate them as you could get fixed sight on the 459 and 659. --commando552 (talk) 08:22, 6 April 2013 (EDT)
