Going Back is a 2001 drama starring Casper Van Dien as Capt. Ramsey, a Vietnam War veteran and former Marine C.O of Echo Company who returns to Vietnam with several of his former E Company Marines to film a TV documentary about their reunion. During the reunion, tensions began to rise as the men of E Company blame Ramsey for a friendly fire incident that resulted in the deaths of several Marines. As the men revisit old battlefields, the events leading up to the day in question are shown in a series of flashbacks. The film co-starred Jaimz Woolvett, Bobby Hosea, Pablo Espinosa and Kenny Johnson, and was directed by Sidney J. Furie, who had previously directed the Vietnam War-themed films as The Boys in Company C and Purple Hearts. Originally released as a made for television film, Going Back was also released on DVD in the United States under the title Under Heavy Fire.
The following weapons were used in the movie Going Back:
Chico Spaceman (Pablo Espinosa) and other Marines carry the M72 LAW, which is never seen fired.
M40 Recoilless Rifle
Tex Atkins (Jaimz Woolvett) and 'Jimmy Joe' Coulter (Kenny Johnson) use an M40 Recoilless Rifle mounted on a jeep to knock out several heavily fortified VC positions in Hue City.
