A group of shipwrecked drug dealers seek refuge on an oil rig which turns out to be a cover for a secret genetic engineering experiment gone wrong. Based off of the 1983 novel Slimer by John Brosnan (aka Harry Adam Knight).
The following weapons were used in the film Proteus:
AKMS
The main gun used in the film is what appears to be a modified AKMS with a folding stock and a very large scope. It's found by DEA agent Alex (Craig Fairbrass) in the lab, and he uses it, sometimes with a flashlight, throughout the remainder of the film.
Heckler & Koch MP5
A Heckler & Koch MP5 the second of the guns found in the lab. It is primarily used by DEA agent Rachel (Jennifer Calvert) although Paul (Robert Firth) carries it in some scenes briefly prior to his death, and Linda (Toni Barry) also finds one in the hallway. Rachel is shown explaining trigger discipline and how to reload and other gun safety tips to her fellow survivors. Security guard Buckley (Ricco Ross) is seen with one prior to the castaways' arrival, and he still has it when he turns up again later. A few of Leonard Brinkstone's (Doug Bradley) henchmen also carry them at the climax.
M1911
Another gun used by Rachel is what appears to be an M1911 handgun she finds (or brought with her, considering she and Alex are undercover DEA agents).
