About Me
Well, might as well give you the story.
I'm a British guy who has a fascination for firearms, with a deep love for the Walther P99 (even though I've never fired a "real steel" version). I'm also a Reservist (not full time, yet) in the Territorial Army (British equivalent of the US National Guard, I think) as a Paratrooper - which I think, having been through countless dead-end jobs in offices, shops, warehouses, a call-centre and brewery, is the best job in the world.
Through this, I have handled, fired and used a few weapons available to the British Army.
As some may know, gun ownership in the UK is one of the tightest in the world. With the exception of hunting shotguns and rifles, target weapons, air pistols/rifles (.177 and .22 calibres), deactivated, blank-firing and air-soft guns (a license needs too be held for these in cases which they are fully coloured), a five year plus prison sentence comes along with it. However, despite this, I some day hope to move too America to own a weapon "freely".
I use this site as a resource for the identification of and too enhance my knowledge of firearms. I originally came too this site to identify the side-arm carried by Ross Kemp as SSgt. 'Henno' Garvie in Ultimate Force, and have been hooked here ever since. Not only have I been shocked and impressed by the amount of firearms out there but I have also found some of my favourite films, TV shows and video games on this very site. I also use this site too check out the firearms in some video games (for example, Call of Duty MW2/3 and Grand Theft Auto).
I do try too help out on this site where I can but I do not and will never base my knowledge of firearms on the way they are portrayed in media (for example, knowing a 12 gauge shotgun round would more than likely not yield the energy too launch someone back six feet!).
To the admins and starters of this site, keep up the outstanding work and thanks for widening my knowledge on all things firearms!
Preferred peacemakers of choice
Pistols
Walther P99 - Always loved the design of this gun - seemed to as the Audi equivalent of a handgun.
Colt M1911A1 - Over a century of use, attractive design, has well and truly proved itself as an excellent handgun.
Heckler and Koch USP Compact Tactical - Always fancied this gun since I saw it in xXx 2. 13 rounds of 9mm, packs a mighty punch in a short package.
Glock 17 - Around for 32 years now, adopted by various military and law enforcement agencies. Treat it right, and it'll see you through a shit storm.
Ruger P90 - Again, the design brings me too this gun. As Terry Crews once said, "good fuckin' gun"
IMI Desert Eagle - Would own one in .50AE, for the pure reason of the fact I would feel Godly with an Israeli-made handcannon in my humble hands.
Sig Sauer P226 - Swiss engineering at its finest - have used this gun in the TA, feels so right in the hands.
Sub-machine guns
Heckler and Koch MP5K-PDW - I am preferable to the stock on this weapon as opposed too the MP5.
Heckler and Koch MP5A3 - Reliable, classic and attractive too the eye.
IMI Micro Uzi - 100% Kosher spray and pray goodness. The Israel's know how to make a good machine pistol
FN P90 - Wanted something from Belgium, and didn't fancy waffles. Love the sci-fi look of this gun, and the unconventional design.
Brugger and Thomet MP9 - Back to Swizterland. Based on the Steyr TMP, but I like the modifications done too it
Shotguns
Mossberg 590 Cruiser - This gun looks simplistic, and I like that. 8 rounds of man-breaking power.
Remington 870 - Would be a backup for my 590. If there is one thing American's know how to make, its a good looking shotgun.
Benelli M4 - My "Italian Stallion". Fell in love with it ever since it was used in Miami Vice. Also used by the British Army.
Assault Rifles
Heckler and Koch G36C - The BMW of assault rifles - like its cousin, the USP Compact, packs a mighty punch in a mini package.
Bushmaster ACR - OK, I'll admit it, Call of Duty introduced me to this rifle, but I'd love too own one.
AK-74U - Russia's answer to a beautiful and built-to-last compact assault rife. Through mud, through water, through sand and shit, it'll get you there.
L85A2 - This is my rifle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. Without my rifle I am nothing. Without me, my rifle is nothing. Customized with a SUSAT sight, H&K AG36-UGL and bayonet, I'm ready for war.
M4A1 - Other than an AK-47, one of the most well known and well recognized rifles in existence. The AR-15 design has proven itself over various wars and conflicts, from the M16 in Vietnam to the M4A1 in Afghanistan, handled from forces in Argentina to Yemen, it has proven its worth.
Rifles
Accuracy International Arctic Warfare - Civilian variant of the L118A1, it held the record for world's longest kill.
Walther WA2000 - Beautiful design, and I really like the thumbstock grip.
Mk 14 Mod 1 EBR - Really like the look of this rifle. Looks like something either American or British Special Forces would use.
Remington 700 - American made and classic bolt-action design.
So that's it for now! Drop me a mail or something if you want to get in touch.
Cheers,
Fixer.
