Street Kings is a 2008 crime thriller directed by David Ayer (the writer of Training Day and the director of Harsh Times) and stars Keanu Reeves as a veteran LAPD Vice detective Tom Ludlow who is determined to find out why his former partner was murdered. The film was based on an original screenplay from James Ellroy (the author of L.A. Confidential) and co-stars Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, Terry Crews, and Forest Whitaker.
The following firearms can be seen in the film Street Kings:
Detective Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) uses a Smith & Wesson 4506-1 as his on-duty sidearm in the film, but uses a customized Colt MK IV Series 80 for his off duty activities. He most notably uses it near the beginning of the film, when he single-handedly takes down four Korean slavers. Although it is not visible in the movie, the 4506 used in the movie has a pair of snake eyes dice and "Vice Special" printed on the right side of the slide between the ejection port and the muzzle. This 4506 was later re-used in several episodes of the TV series Dark Blue (which had the same armorer as this movie).
Detective Tom Ludlow carries a Colt MK IV Series 80 .45 pistol as his off duty piece. The .45 is customized with raised adjustable sights, beaver tail grip safety, a combat hammer, extended ambidextrous slide stop safety, extended slide release, beveled magazine well, stainless barrel, and long type combat trigger. The magazines Ludlow uses, also have butt pads.
The particular Series 80 from Street Kings would later be re-used in several other movies and TV series, carried by Dylan McDermott in Dark Blue and Cole Hauser in Chase. Special thanks to Terence Morgan, the armorer on all three productions, who provided the picture of the weapon (as seen below).
Detective Diskant (Chris Evans), or Disco as Ludlow calls him, carries a Glock 17 as his sidearm throughout the film. Scribble (Cedric the Entertainer) also uses Diskant's Glock, when he is forced to pick it up during the shootout at Freemont and Coates' apartment. Freemont (Cle Shaheed Sloan) also carries a Glock 17 as his sidearm in the film.
Det. Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) keeps a stainless Charter Arms Off Duty hammerless snub-nose revolver as his "burner" or BUG (back-up gun). He keeps the gun loaded with .38 hollow points. When Freemont and Coates attack Washington in the store, Ludlow draws his .38 and fires all five shots, one of which accidentally hits Washington in the right shoulder. Captain Wander (Forest Whitaker) handles the gun after the shootout, as he takes the casings from Ludlow's snub-nose.
Detective Dante Demille (John Corbett) and Detective Cosmo Santos (Amaury Nolasco) carry Kimber Custom TLE II pistols fitted with SureFire 310R flashlights as their sidearms in the film. Det. Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) also uses Demille's Kimber at one point in the film. Coincidentally actor Keanu Reeves has used 14 years before the early corresponding of this L.A.P.D. SWAT issue pistol in "Speed". Currently in Hollywood he is the only actor to handle both these historical tactical pistols.
Several LAPD officers throughout the film, including Capt. Biggs' right-hand man Sergeant Greene (Clifton Powell), are seen armed with Beretta 92FS pistols. Capt. James Biggs (Hugh Laurie) also carries a Beretta 92FS as his sidearm in the film.
Terrence Washington (Terry Crews) carries a Beretta 92FS Inox as his sidearm in the film. Shortly before the Korean store is raided by the cop killers, Washington draws his Inox on a stunned Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves), who, in spite of his original intention of breaking his jaw, had entered the store to warn Washington of the impending robbery.
Det. Ludlow finds an engraved silver or nickel-plated Colt Mark IV Series 80 Combat Commander with gold plated hammer and thumb safety, after the shootout with the slavers at their house. He plants the Colt on the unarmed man in the bathroom.

SIG-Sauer P239
Coates (Common) carries a two-tone SIG-Sauer P239 as his sidearm in the film. He most notably uses it during the shootout with Ludlow.
Thug Kim (Walter Wong), one of the Korean slavers, carries a Kahr M9098 Elite 2003. Only the Elite 2003 has the polished stainless frame. The Kahr M9098 Elite 2003 is the smallest of the Kahr 9mm pistols with a 3" barrel. After his raid on the Koreans house, Detective Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) takes Thug Kims' Kahr K9, which he had barely drawn before being gunned down, and uses the Korean's hand to fire two shots into the door to look like he shot first.
Captain Wander (Forest Whitaker) carries a 2.5" barrel Smith & Wesson Model 66 as his sidearm in the film. We only see it very briefly once, during the confrontation between him and Ludlow.
When Ludlow and Diskant chase down Quicks (Noel Gugliemi), Ludlow traps him in roof barbed wire and removes a Rohrbaugh R9 which Quicks had hidden in his waist.
Det. Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) also carries a Walther PPK/S as a back-up gun to his customized Colt. The PPK/S can be seen only briefly, as Det. Santos (Amaury Nolasco) confiscates it from Ludlow as he and Det. Demille (John Corbett) arrest him.
Fremont (Cle Shaheed Sloan) uses a Smith & Wesson M76, with two magazines clipped together, during the shootout at the convenience store. He also uses it during the shootout with Ludlow and Diskant at their apartment. Fremont keeps the M76 loaded with 9mm FMJs or Full Metal Jackets, meaning simple ball ammo.
Coates (Common) uses an M3A1 "Grease Gun" during the shootout at the convenience store. The magazines are held together with a metal clamp but when Coates reloads, the magazine is still on the same side. Coates keeps the M3A1 loaded with .45 full metal jackets, meaning .45 ACP ball ammo.
Boss Kim (Kenneth Choi) uses a Remington 870 with a sawed-off barrel when Det. Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) raids their hideout. He manages to hit the detective in the vest with it, before he is killed by Ludlow moments later. Detectives Santos (Amaury Nolasco) and Demille (John Corbett) also use synthetic stock Remington 870 Police shotguns, fitted with surefire grips, when they arrest Ludlow at Grace's house. Sergeant Greene (Clifton Powell) also uses a Remigton 870 Police shotgun after the climax, when he approaches Det. Ludlow.
Detective "Disco" Diskant (Chris Evans) carries and uses a Benelli M1 Super 90 fitted with asaddle mount shell holder and a tactical flashlight during several busts as he aids Ludlow. Several police officers throughout the film are also seen armed with Benelli M1 Super 90 shotguns.
When Ludlow and Diskant raid Grill's (Jayceon "Game" Taylor) house, he reaches for an AKMS which based on the stock configuration and furniture, is a Romanian AIMS.
Ludlow pretends to sell a Browning M2 heavy machine gun to two of the Korean slavers in order to provoke them into stealing his car and the gun, thus allowing him to track them to their final location. When they first see the gun, they complain how they wanted a machine gun they could carry, not a 120lb machine gun to scratch up his car with.
A rack of M16A4 rifles (or possibly AR15 A2s) is also visible in the armory when Ludlow and Diskant are loading up. Based on the shape of the carry handle, they are M16A4s, the carry handles look removable.
A Heckler & Koch MP5SD6 is seen on the wall rack in the police armory when Ludlow and Diskant arm up to face Freemont and Coates. In further shots, the integral suppressor is visible.
A Craft Apple Works CAW 40mm Launcher is seen on the wall rack in the police armory when Ludlow and Diskant arm up to face Freemont and Coates. The launcher is actually an airsoft weapon.
