The Insider is a 1999 drama directed by Michael Mann and is based on a true story. Russell Crowe stars as Jeffrey Wigand, a big tobacco executive who wants to blow the whistle on the practices of his company to "60 Minutes" producer Lowell Bergman (Al Pacino), but finds his life threatened by unseen forces.
