Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Deacons for Defense is a 2005 Showtime movie that was inspired by a true story of a group of African American citizens of Bogalusa, Louisiana, who took up arms to protect themselves from the KKK and the local law. The film stars Forest Whitaker, Jonathan Silverman and Ossie Davis and was directed by Bill Duke.
Please note that this is a work in Progress and I will be working on it as often as I can. So please don't delete it, though any help is appreciated. Westernman1987
The following firearms were used in the film Deacons for Defense:
M16A1
The Deacons pick up several crates of weapons from longshoremen, including several M16A1 rifles.
M60
Another weapon they pick up from the longshoremen, but never use, is a M60 machine gun.
M26 Hand Grenade
They also pick up a crate of M26 hand grenades, which causes concern among the Deacons.
Luger P08
Marcus Clay (Forest Whitaker) is seen with a Luger P08. Presumably the gun is his father's or Otis's.
FN Trombone
Marcus' father and later Marcus are seen with a FN Trombone .22 pump-action rifle.
M1 Carbine
One of the Deacons is seen with a M1 Carbine, possibly a service weapon brought home from Korea.
M1 Garand
A deacon is seen with a M1 Garand.
High Standard Flite King
Both a KKK member and a Deacon carry the same High Standard Flite King shotgun. The shotgun was taken from the KKK member by the Deacon during their first confrontation. This is anachronistic, as the Flite King was released in 1966, two years after when the film is set
M1911A1
William Chase (Christopher Britton), the head of the local KKK, carries a M1911A1 pistol. Other Klan members and at least one Deacon also carry them.
