:From the shape of the top cover and the design and position of the charging handle, I would say that it is probably an MG42 which has been mocked up as a generic "early" water cooled machine gun. MG08 ?

- From the shape of the top cover and the design and position of the charging handle, I would say that it is probably an MG42 which has been mocked up as a generic "early" water cooled machine gun. I think I can also see the rear of the hinged pannel on the right side of the heat shield (that you open to do a barrel change on the MG42) poking out of the rear of the cosmetic jacket. --commando552 (talk) 05:17, 6 December 2012 (EST)
