The Expendables 2 is the 2012 sequel to 2010's The Expendables. The film was directed by Simon West (Con Air) and Sylvester Stallone returns as the leader of a team of mercenaries, who this time are tasked by the CIA to prevent a cache of plutonium from falling into the wrong hands. As in the original film, nearly all of the biggest names in action films from the past two decades make appearances in the sequel and in addition to expanded roles for Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme also appear in this film. | The Expendables 2 is the 2012 sequel to 2010's The Expendables.
The following firearms can be seen in the film The Expendables 2:
Handguns
Custom Kimber Gold Combat II
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) uses a pair of M1911A1 pistols as his sidearms in the film, likely the same Kimber Gold Combat II pistols that he wielded in the first film. In this film, the Kimbers' grips feature small "Expendable" eblems on both guns. The same symbol is also seen in Barney's toothpick knife.
Colt M1911A1 (customized)
Hector (Scott Adkins) uses a heavily customized Colt M1911A1 pistol as his sidearm in the film. This is likely the same gun that was seen in the first film and in the 2004 adaptation of The Punisher.
Colt Single Action Army
As in the original film, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) carries a customized Single Action Army. The revolver has a shortened barrel, compensator cuts and no front sight. He uses the SAA during the rescue mission in the beginning of the film.
Heckler & Koch P30
Maggie Chan (Nan Yu) uses a Heckler & Koch P30 as her sidearm in the film, and can be seen firing it during the shootout at the abandoned Soviet base.
Makarov PM
A Nepalese guerrilla draws a Makarov PM when the Expendables attack his base.
SIG-Sauer P229
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) carries a SIG-Sauer P229 when The Expendables are in Albania. He draws the SIG when the team is confronted by Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and his henchmen at the crash site.
SIG-Sauer P226R
Hale Ceasar (Terry Crews) carries a SIG-Sauer P226R as his sidearm in the film, and he most notably uses it during the shootout in the abandoned Soviet military base. Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) uses Ceasar's P226 during the rescue mission in the beginning, as he gives his Milkor MGL Mk 1L grenade launcher to him after Trench Mauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) takes Ceasar's AA-12 shotgun.
Walther P99
Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme), leader of an Albanian criminal group known as the Sang, uses a Walther P99 with a gold-plated slide as his sidearm.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch UMP
Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Ceasar (Terry Crews) use Heckler & Koch UMP submachine guns during the jet ski chase after the rescue mission in the beginning of the film. Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) uses a Heckler & Koch UMP at the abandoned Soviet base. Maggie Chan (Nan Yu) also uses the UMP during the shootout at the airport. Various henchmen also use the UMP as their primary firearm in the film. Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) also picks up a UMP during the shootout at the airport, and subsequently uses it until it runs out of ammo.
Arsenal Shipka
Toll Road (Randy Couture) uses an Arsenal Shipka during the gun battle at the abandoned Soviet training base.
Assault Rifles
Noveske Rifleworks Diplomat
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Ying Yang (Jet Li), and Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) use Noveske Rifleworks Diplomats with Vltor VIS-1 monolithic upper receiver assemblies during the rescuw mission in the beginning. Most of the main characters use the Diplomat when they are searching for the crash site of a Chinese jet. These rifles are most likely the same weapons that ISS (Independent Studio Services) acquired for The Expendables.
M4A1 Carbine
Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) are both seen with the M4A1 assault rifles during the rescue mission in the beginning of the film. Toll Road's M4A1 is fitted with a Heckler & Koch AG-C grenade launcher, while Lee Christmas' (Jason Statham) M4A1 is fitted with an M26 MASS under-barrel accessory shotgun. Toll Road, and a couple of the Sangs also use M4A1 carbines during the shootout at the airport. Trench Mauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) picks up one of the M4s after his AA-12 shotgun runs empty, and uses it subsequently. Interestingly, the M4A1 in question has no rear sight.
Heckler & Koch HK416
Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) uses a Heckler & Koch HK416 assault rifle during the shootout at the airport. He uses it until it runs out of ammo.
Steyr AUG A3
Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme) carries a Steyr AUG A3 with an Aimpoint Micro T-1 red dot sight as his primary firearm in the film.
AKMSU
Hector (Scott Adkins), Vilain's right-hand man, uses an AKMSU carbine as his primary firearm in the film. He most notably uses it during the battle at the airport. Some of the other Sangs also use AKMSUs.
SIG SG 552
Several of the Sangs use the SIG SG 552 carbine in the film.
AKM
Nepalese guerrillas use AKM rifles with Norinco Type 56-style folding bayonets. A friendly Albanian villager is also armed with an AKM.
Arsenal AR
Some of the Sangs use Arsenal AR rifles, both in unmodified form and mocked up to resemble the M16A2.
FN SCAR-L
Several of the Sangs use FN SCAR-L rifles fitted with EOTech sights throughout the film.
Heckler & Koch G36C
Booker (Chuck Norris) uses a Heckler & Koch G36C with three magazines clamped together as his main weapon.
Heckler & Koch G36KV
Many of the Sangs use Heckler & Koch G36KV rifles.
Rifles
Steyr Mannlicher M1895
Some of the friendly villagers that the Expendables meet wield what appear to be Steyr Mannlicher M1895 rifles.
M1 Carbine
One of the villagers holds an M1 Carbine.
Sniper Rifles
Barrett M107
The main rifle carried by Billy "The Kid" Timmons (Liam Hemsworth) in the film is a Barrett M107
Shotguns
AA-12
Hale Ceasar (Terry Crews) is seen using an AA-12 shotgun fitted with a weaponlight and a drum magazine as he did for the finale of the first movie. He later gives the weapon to "Trench" Mauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who uses it for the first portion of the airport shootout before running out of ammo.
Benelli M4 Super 90
Hale Ceasar (Terry Crews) uses a Benelli M4 Super 90 semi-automatic shotgun during the shootout at the Bulgarian village.
M26 MASS
Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) uses a M26 MASS attached to an M4A1 during the opening rescue mission in Nepal.
Machine Guns
Browning M2
Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) and Ying Yang (Jet Li) fire Browning M2 machine guns mounted on Land Rovers during the opening gun battle.
PKM
Nepalese guerrillas have PKM machine guns mounted on Mercedes-Benz G-Wagens and boats in the beginning of the film.
FN MAG
Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) uses a FN MAG during a chase between the Expendables' seaplane and enemy airboats.
KPV Heavy Machine Gun
The KPV heavy machine gun, mounted on a ZPU-4 quad anti-aircraft mount, is used by Nepalese guerrillas and the Sangs.
Other
RPG-22
Hale Caesar (Terry crews) uses a RPG-22 rocket launcher when The Expendables attack the Nepalese guerrilla fortress.
Milkor MGL Mk 1L
Hale Caesar and Gunnar Jansen use Milkor MGL Mk 1L grenade launchers in several scenes. When used by Caesar it seems to be loaded with buckshot rounds, as there is no explosion or damage beyond the damage to the person hit, unlike when used by Gunnar.
