::Actually I have heard of something like that when it came to the movie adaptation if "A Rumor of War" by Phillip Caputo.  If I remember correctly due to the controversial nature of the movie the producers were unable to acquire the M-14s they needed for the movie so some M-1 Garands (possibly the "Tanker" version were used in their place.  It is noticeable in scenes where they are loading their weapons that they are not real M-14s but modified M-1s (of some sort). --[[User:Charon68|Charon68]] 21:54, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

== Makarov ==
I think that the unknown pistol in the green berets movie is a Browning Hi-Power because of the frame and slide of the pistol reminds me of a Browning Hi-Power.
Sorry but that is not a Makarov>  Am not sure what it is but not that. --[[User:Charon68|Charon68]] 01:31, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

I don't think it's a Colt 1903 Hammerless either - due to the grips extending all the way up the frame to the slide. My first thought was a MAB Model D but there are features which would seem to rule that out as well (position of safety catch, depth of frame in front of trigger guard). IKD

T26 Tanker Garand Rifle

The rifle seen in the Mike Force assault is a T26 Tanker Garand Rifle. I have seen them in the inventory with the flash hider removed and two holes drilled in the bottom of the trigger housing to mount a dummy magazine. It was the armories way of having a weapon look like an M14 at that time. --phoenixent 17:37, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, sure looks like a BM-59 to me, but you know what you're talking about so I'll bow to your knowledge on that one. - Nyles
Actually I have heard of something like that when it came to the movie adaptation if "A Rumor of War" by Phillip Caputo. If I remember correctly due to the controversial nature of the movie the producers were unable to acquire the M-14s they needed for the movie so some M-1 Garands (possibly the "Tanker" version were used in their place.
