: I carefully studied all scenes where motorcycles appeared (there are two of them) and cannot see anything that resemble Villar Perosa. In one scene carabiniers on motorcycles carry no weapon at all and in another scene they are armed with "grease guns" and the only heavy weapon that can be seen are M1919s on jeeps. So I guess that the text on the Longmountain site mean that VP were mounted on motorcycles in real history, as opposed to the hand held version in the movie. I can't deal with this properly right now as am doing this on my phone, but here is a an article describing this prop gun, which was a pair of inverted Beretta Model 38As with the front grip from a Bren and an MG42 trigger group. --commando552 (talk) 14:20, 22 September 2012 (EDT)

Thank you! I'll make the corrections. Greg-Z (talk) 14:26, 22 September 2012 (EDT)

Book

I read the book back in middle school. Puzo tied this book in with The Godfather, with Michael Corleone meeting Guiliano during his Sicilian exile. I'm guessing they omitted that in the film. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:55, 22 September 2012 (EDT)

According to Wikipedia, "all references to the Corleones are omitted from the film due to copyright issues." Greg-Z (talk) 15:05, 22 September 2012 (EDT)

Real Villar Perosa?

If I am understanding it correctly, according to this there was a real Villar Perosa in the film (along with the hand held mock up) which was mounted on a motorcycle, is this the case? --commando552 (talk) 20:46, 4 October 2012 (EDT)
