Riptide was an action-adventure series that aired on NBC from 1984 to 1986. Perry King and Joe Penny starred in the series as Cody and Nick, two Army veterans who run a private detective agency based out of a Southern California marina aboard a boat named Riptide. They are assisted by "Boz" (Thom Bray), an expert computer hacker whom they met in the military. The series was co-created by Stephen J. Cannell, who was responsible for many classic 80's action series including The A-Team, which aired immediately before Riptide for its three seasons. One of the notable aspects of the show was the bright pink Korean War era Sikorsky S-58 helicopter named "Screaming Mimi" flown by Nick.
