The Hot Snow (Goryachiy Sneg) is a 1972 Soviet war movie directed by Gabriel Yegiazarov. The movie is based on eponymous novel by Yuri Bondarev. The story takes place in December 1942, when the soldiers of a Red Army antitank gun battery face the onslaught of German armored division trying to relieve the besieged German troops in Stalingrad.
The following weapons are seen in the movie The Hot Snow (Goryachiy Sneg):
Most Soviet officers including one of the main characters, Lt. Kuznetsov (Boris Tokarev), are armed with Tokarev TT-33 pistols. The pistols are mostly seen in holsters.
Submachine guns
PPSh-41
Several Soviet soldiers are armed with PPSh-41 submachine guns with drum magazines.
MP40
MP40 submachine guns are briefly seen in hands of German soldiers.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891/30 Rifle
Most Soviet infantry soldiers are armed with full-length M1891/30 rifles, mostly with bayonets.
Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbine
Soviet artillerymen are armed with M1938 carbines which is historically correct.
Machine guns
Degtyaryov DP-28 Light Machine Gun
DP-28 light machine gun is seen in the opening scene.
Degtyaryov DT Machine Gun
DT machine guns are seen on T-34 tanks. They are also mocked up as German MG34 on Tiger tanks (which are visually modified T-34s).
Maxim M1910/30 Machine Gun
Maxim M1910/30 machine guns are seen in the Soviet trenches.
In one scene Soviet soldiers use AT grenades against German tanks. These grenades looks similar to RPG-40 or RPG-41 but most likely they are dummy training grenades or simply movie props.
