This gun makes it's appearance in the beginning of the movie when Jim (Christian Bale) is having military flashbacks. Many of Jim's fellow Rangers are also seen armed with M4A1 rifles.

SMITH&WESSON 5904

During the military flashback scene, Jim (Christian Bale) uses the Army issued Beretta M9 pistol to finish off two remaining isurgence during the flashback scene.

You see this gun in the movie when Jim and Mike rob Flaco's car. After which Jim and Mike try to sell the gun for $300 to various gang members and drug users.
