Chouans! is a french historical adventure film directed by Philippe de Broca in 1988 according to the novel of Honoré de Balzac.The story introduces us to the French Revolution, against the newly created republic and their supporters called Chouans, revolted royalists, the Count de Kerfadec (Philippe Noiret) leadership to which they added the desperados, to rob stagecoaches more interest than restore the monarchy. Yet they managed to induce the peasants rebellion in Brittany.
