None of the guns in this film are ever actually fired. At the time of production, a drought was taking place, and the production team was not allowed to use blanks or even squibs. Hence, all those effects are digital. However, since Hellboy, it seems they have remembered to include actions cycling, which is also done digitally. | None of the guns in this film are ever actually fired. Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno in Spanish) is a 2006 dark fantasy film. In Francoist Spain, shortly after the Civil War, the ruthlessly Authoritarian Guardia Captain Vidal (Sergi López), hunts down Spanish Maquis resistance fighters in the woods as her young stepdaughter Ofelia is set to complete three tasks by a Faun living in the eponymous labyrinth.
The following weapons were used in the movie Pan's Labyrinth
Rifles
1893 Spanish Mauser
Both Spanish Guardia soldiers and their Maquis counterparts carry 1893 Spanish Mauser rifles. These appear to be the full-length weapons, rather then the shortened Mauser Oviedo 1916.
Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III*
Several Maquis carry the Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* in the film. Oddly enough, at least one Guardia soldier appears to wield it as well.
Trivia
None of the guns in this film are ever actually fired. At the time of production, a drought was taking place, and the production team was not allowed to use blanks or even squibs. Hence, all those effects are digital. However, since Hellboy, it seems they have remembered to include actions cycling, which is also done digitally.
