Those look Great!!!! It would sure cleanup the pages by doing that. I would just do one thing to them and that is add in the Studio for all of them like Dreamworks, Warner Brothers or EA. gun brand pages
Looks good, the H&K logo looks a bit big. Good luck with Smith & Wesson! --Predator20 23:36, 23 December 2011 (CST)
- Thank you for the reply, and sorry I misjudged you (to be honest, I didn't notice the discussion, so I did think you were some foolish n00b who was changing things without consulting admins). I thought that I was simply upholding a decision that the rest of the staff had agreed to a long time ago. At the very least, I guess we should discuss the matter again in the topic - and clearly, the forum's not such a good place, since we have too many problems with spammers. And Happy Holidays to you, too. -MT2008 10:01, 24 December 2011 (CST)
- Looks good. I'm a mod here. I really like the Colt page. The S&W page is going to be an intensive piece of labor for you. I agree with bunni. We need a category for these new pages. --Jcordell 16:30, 27 December 2011 (CST)
I've been collecting S&W revolvers for several years. S&W has always been a very organized company with outstanding records. Better organized company in so many aspects. In the past couple of years I've gotten into Colt revolvers and I've learned that getting information about the various Colt handguns is very challenging. For most of it's history Colt was rather scatter-shot in it's approach. For example they would have different models use the same serial number range (Official Police and .38 spl Officer Model Target pre-WWII), but the Pre-WWII Officer Model Target .22LR had it's own serial numbers. Why? Who knows? Other models (such as the Theur derringer) would be made for decades and Colt has little to no written records about the models. For example the serial numbers will not tell you what year an individual derringer was made. And then you have the Official Police model and it's variants. Over 700,000 made over a seventy year period. Very challenging. I like the colt double action revolvers, but I can see why colt has almost gone out of business and S&W is still prospering. Hopefully Colt's fairly new management can fix things. --Jcordell 17:37, 27 December 2011 (CST)
No I'm sorry. Not as knowledgable about Taurus. But I do have a couple books that might be helpful. I'll look through them.--Jcordell 19:00, 19 January 2012 (CST)
- Once again you're doing good work tackling the pages that the rest of us just lack the energy for. Such as the page for the S&W 27/28. Looks good. --Jcordell 10:40, 7 February 2012 (CST)

Featured Article Template
The change to remove the poster image was so that the Main Page would better fit smaller screens. Yes, anyone can suggest a Featured Article, I agree it would be better if there was more turn over in the articles. bunni 00:13, 15 February 2012 (CST)
FeaturedArticles2
Thanks for the new images. If you want to try to do some new articles, please refrain from doing video games or anime and please try to find images that show the weapon clearly and that don't have any network logos in them. --Ben41 20:32, 15 February 2012 (CST)
- These were initially left out to their overuse in the previous template. You can go ahead and add them to the discussion if you like. --Ben41 04:08, 18 February 2012 (CST)
Identifying revolvers
Just a tip when adding screenshots of revolvers that are hard to identify:
1. Try to find a side shot showing the release lever (these will help identify whether the revolver is an S&W or a Colt).
2. A shot of the ejector rod below the barrel
3. A shot that shows if the revolver has an exposed hammer.
I realize that you won't always be able to find these shots, but just something to keep in mind. --Ben41 20:08, 27 February 2012 (CST)
Using VLC
If you're using VLC player, you can click the "Tools" at the top and then "Effects and Filters". Click the "Video Effects" tab and check the "Adjust" and "Sharpen" box. Use the "Gamma" slider to brighten the image and the "Sharpen" slider to sharpen the picture. Fast Stone also has image adjusters as well. --Ben41 15:58, 2 March 2012 (CST)
- Unfortunately, you can't go frame by frame with MKV files without this problem. You can slow it down to 25%, though. If you still want to go frame by frame, Media Player Classic can do this and you can capture screenshots with Fast Stone. --Ben41 23:27, 3 March 2012 (CST)
Distinguishing SIG's
The thing I look for is that SIG P226 has a longer slide than the 228 and 229. Jesse and Eric appear to carry the 229 and Frank uses the 226. --Ben41 00:43, 10 March 2012 (CST)
- Ben's criteria for distinguishing SIGs is way too vague. Both the 220 and the 226 have longer slides than the 228 and 229. Basically, if you want to tell whether it's a 226, also look at the trigger guard (it's squared, rather than rounded, like on the 228 and 229). As for distinguishing the 228 from the 229, they're almost the same gun, but the cocking serrations on the 229's slide only reach halfway up the height of the slide, whereas the 228's go to the top. Compare pictures and you'll notice the differences. -MT2008 09:16, 10 March 2012 (CST)
I have a question. The only page you need to put a weapon that was in a game or movie? Can you put a weapon which does not exist anywhere else? That is a weapon that has not been placed yet in any production. ? Sorry for my English, I use the interpreter.--Mateogala 15:22, 20 March 2012 (CDT)
What do you think about the parties modify their weapons for a more transparent? You can put up to each party table with a gallery to gallery site structure is not spoiled. For example, I did MP40. What do you think? So I can edit every weapon that is in service, you can also put a single table. --Mateogala 16:30, 20 March 2012 (CDT)

Category Gun
Why don't you make the categories into a gallery format? Put in the discussion section and then I'll put it on the page. --Ben41 17:27, 20 March 2012 (CDT)
Deleted Gun images
If a weapon is on the main page, but isn't used in anything, please move to discussion page (just in case there happens to be something it's used in the future). --Ben41 21:13, 20 March 2012 (CDT)
RE: CSI: NY
I removed your image because your image shows a newer-model P226 with a rail and short-reset trigger, while the gun used in that episode of the show is an original German-made 226 without the frame rail. Do you think that yours is more representative simply because it has black controls? -MT2008 22:28, 20 March 2012 (CDT)
- There's no need to apologize. :) Also, the two-tone 226 in CSI:NY is the same one that appears in Bad Boys II and a few episodes of Burn Notice. I don't think it's a factory two-tone gun, or else it would have nickel controls. I think it was made by taking the slide from a nickel 226 and fitting it to a regular blued frame, which is why it retains the standard blued controls. I keep wondering if ISS built that 226 and the one from 2 Fast 2 Furious simultaneously by swapping out parts from one blued 226 and one nickel 226. It would explain a lot. -MT2008 22:55, 20 March 2012 (CDT)
- Movie guns get reused in lots of different productions, because the armory that owns them will rent them out to other productions in order to keep making money from the gun's usage (the most obvious example is the Timecop Taurus pistols, which have also appeared on all of the Stargate TV shows and a million other productions filmed in Canada). It doesn't really matter whether the actor handling the gun is a major character in the show or not.
- No, MPM does not work for ISS (he has his own company, and he's told us before that his company is one of the smaller armories), but he prefers to remain anonymous on here.
- I have no idea how to make all of the sub-categories appear on the front of the page. It seems to be a formatting issue, and looking at the code, I'm not sure how to resolve it. -MT2008 11:07, 24 March 2012 (CDT)
- Alright, try it now. -MT2008 15:15, 24 March 2012 (CDT)
re:1911 gallery
I'll do what I can to help. --Predator20 12:33, 22 March 2012 (CDT)
- Most of the hard work was done by you. All I did was take out images out here and there.--Predator20 23:20, 22 March 2012 (CDT)
Pistols
How are you defining pistols? I would think the Uzi Pistol is ... a pistol. And the second P in Steyr SPP is "pistol". --Funkychinaman 16:27, 22 March 2012 (CDT)
Re:M16A2
No, you are the one who is mistaken. Look at the trigger group; it only has 2 positions - Safe and Semi, making this a civilian AR-15 A2 HBAR. A true M16A2 would have a third position for the 3-round burst mode. Orca1 9904 04:11, 25 March 2012 (CDT)
- Did you even bother looking at the caption for the image on the M16 rifle series article? You are dangerously close to angering me. I strongly advise you to cease and desist immediately. Orca1 9904 04:34, 25 March 2012 (CDT)
RE: AR-15 Gallery
I have actually made an "Colt AR-15 Identification Guide" page but haven't uploaded it yet that has the table I put on my user page, but the main addition is a glossary at the bottom of the page that will link from the text in the table, and will have pictures of the various different parts (such as different upper receivers and stocks, stuff like that). Its nearly ready, I just need to get around to uploading the pictures of the various parts. This is only for Colt variants though (would be way to complicated if it included other companies weapons as that starts getting into aftermarket or unique parts) so I think it is worth having both this and the gallery, as that includes non Colt weapons, guns derived from the AR-15 design and 7.62 weapons. I'll have a look through the gallery and sort out the Colt variants, particular the carbines with just the model number as these are particularly troublesome. Also these carbines were not civilian rifles, so will move them to the military section. --commando552 07:09, 25 March 2012 (CDT)
RE: Star Pistol series
I guess you could create a page with all of them. But I wouldn't start redirecting the existing pages until some other mods chime in. I don't know enough about the Star pistols and the differences between each type.--Predator20 09:17, 25 March 2012 (CDT)
Grenades
Always be very careful when uploading new grenade pics; there's a fairly high chance that a good picture of a grenade found online is actually an Airsoft grenade, as with that M84 grenade pic you uploaded which is a G&G M84 replica (you can tell because of the screw-in base and the triangular pin being in the primary pin hole, which should have a round pin). Also, it looks clean and real grenades age five years the second they're issued. Nobody knows why. Evil Tim 11:16, 27 March 2012 (CDT)
RE:CSI Miami
I couldn't make out what barrel it had from the caps as they are either from the front in shadow or from the back. If it doesn't have the threaded barrel could be a regular USP with Tactical sights, or it could be a Tactical with a standard barrel, I can't tell. If you get a better look at the side of the slide you will be able to tell from the markings, but that would be the only way. Also, while I'm here I don't think the P226 Elite is one, as it doesn't have the front slide serrations. My guess would be that it is a custom gun using a standard slide with the beaver-tail frame. --commando552 18:10, 3 April 2012 (CDT)
RE:Top Shot - Season 4
I got it from their website. After I replaced the image I found that there is actually an image that it an exact match which is how I knew what the stock was, but it didn't have the flash hider so stuck with that one. I have now shopped on the correct flash hider and will replace it again, hopefully for the last time. --commando552 16:40, 5 April 2012 (CDT)
XM25 mag size
Sorry, I thought the mag held 6 rounds. My mistake, I'll remember to check nextime.--Mandolin 15:39, 6 April 2012 (CDT)
Webley MK III
Sorry about the email. This whole site is a bit confussing and I'm trying my best to provide the proper information. All I know is that the Webley MK III photo is a .38 version and not a .455. I don't know how to "fix" it. Also don't know where the "discussion" page is. So sorry but I'm just trying to provide correct info. Thanks --Jags 17:58, 19 April 2012 (CDT)
Infoboxes
I like the idea of the infobox templates you have made, they make the process much easier which which will hopefully encourage people to use them. One small suggestion though, I think it would be better if the image size for the poster/cover art was set to 300px rather than 400px. In the past the "default" size for the pics at the top of pages has been 300px so that is what people who have added the poster have gone by meaning that in many cases the original picture is less than 400px so it gets stretched making it look pixelated when the template is used. --commando552 15:20, 24 April 2012 (CDT)
Colt
I can understand that sentiment. I hope I edited it correctly. --A Shootist 12:48, 26 April 2012
re:delete
I generally don't delete gun pages (even if they haven't appeared in anything yet). There's always the chance it may appear in something.--Predator20 13:44, 27 April 2012 (CDT)
Parser Functions
I added the Parser Functions extension, let me know if you run into any issues. bunni 15:06, 29 April 2012 (CDT)

Re: Template
Sure, no problem! I much prefer the infobox to sifting through lines of text. I also think that we should do it for each season, as the cast may change throughout the show and it would be nice to show the number episodes in each. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks about the infobox idea, as I had someone remove it from Person of Interest.----JazzBlackBelt-- 21:29, 29 April 2012 (CDT)
- Yeah, no problem. Let me know when you are finished.----JazzBlackBelt-- 16:17, 30 April 2012 (CDT)
Re: Infoboxes
Sure, will change them over. One thing though, is that the foreign one had a "created by" section and the normal one doesn't, is this worth adding to the regular one do you think? It can just be left blank if people want to omit it now can't it? --commando552 04:13, 1 May 2012 (CDT)
Spoiler template
I don't mind this template. --Ben41 19:15, 2 May 2012 (CDT)
..
I use a new template because the old one does not include some important information about the weapons. Since this information page, why all the time is used in one and incomplete template? Old template does not have information about the factory, and this information is important. So I will continue to apply your template.
Maybe you should do a template for each weapon? is more readable than the previous one.
If I can manage alone can make such a template for each weapon. I think that this site looks nicer and is easier to read.

Devil May Cry
It's a godawful page, but it's on my to do list, and I can assure you there are real guns in it. My to do list is just extremely long. Evil Tim 02:49, 6 May 2012 (CDT)
- Just as a note: in general you're being rather over-zealous with these nuke tags. Weak pages do need effort, but the nuke tag is for pages which do not qualify for inclusion at all, not just for pages which aren't finished or of high quality. Evil Tim 06:45, 7 May 2012 (CDT)
- I think perhaps a WEAKPAGE template would be a good idea for pages which have some images but have formatting issues or are otherwise incomplete (eg Red Dwarf) but aren't weak enough to justify deleting them outright. One of those "you can help" templates for people who want to help out but can't think of anything to do, perhaps. Evil Tim 00:16, 8 May 2012 (CDT)
SR-97 specs
Hey, just curious, where did you find the weight and lengths for the SR-97? I could barely find anything that proved this rifle existed (I think there were only a few made) let alone specs for it.
MP40
Sorry. I do not understand this. Page MP40 is good or bad? and what is missing there? --Mateogala 10:25, 7 May 2012 (CDT)
Min number of guns for categorization
It has never been formally codified, but I rarely see any page with a total of less than 6 guns total, to be broken up into subcategories. So I would opine that the page must have Seven (7) or more total guns or at least 4 or more in a specific subsection (like pistols). Thoughts? MoviePropMaster2008 01:21, 8 May 2012 (CDT)
Type 3 Heavy Machine Gun
The weapon used in The Thin Red Line if it's the one I believe it is has been used for other shows and at least one version of Medal of Honor. That is why those are there. I did not list it as the wrong weapon just tying up some loose end.--phoenixent 17:47, 8 May 2012 (CDT)
