The Chief of Chukotka (Nachalnik Chukotki) is a 1966 Soviet adventure comedy by Vitali Melnikov starring Mikhail Kononov.
The story takes place in 1922 on the far North-East of Russia. Young Red commissar Alexei (Mikhail Kononov) is sent to the Chukotka Peninsula to establish the Soviet power in this snow-covered land. He befriends Chukcha people and has to pass through many comic and tragic situations.
The following weapons are seen in the movie The Chief of Chukotka (Nachalnik Chukotki):
Handguns
Mauser C96 Pistol
The Mauser C96 pistol is the main weapon of Alexei (Mikhail Kononov).
Nagant M1895 Revolver
One of the White Army officers is armed with Nagant M1895 revolver.
Unidentified revolver
A US policeman in Alaska has an unidentified revolver in his holster.
Rifles
Winchester Model 1895 Rifle
Two different Winchester Model 1895 rifles are seen in the movie. Both are carbine models, but with different barrel lengths. Khramov (Aleksei Gribov) uses one when he tries to shoot Alexei. Later Alexei gave one of these rifles to his friend and uses the other one himself during the snow shootout. Both rifles are supposedly Russian contract Model 1895 in 7.62x54, converted for hunting.
Winchester Model 1892 Rifle
Another Winchester rifle seen is the Model 1892, carried by Alexei on several occasions.
Mosin Nagant Rifle
Several White Army soldiers and officers use Mosin Nagant rifles, both the full-length M1891/30 and carbine models.
Arisaka Rifle
One of the White Army soldiers is seen with Arisaka Rifle with sword bayonet. It is most likely Type 38.
