Hawaii Five-O - Season 1 (1968-1969)

Hawaii Five-O first aired as a two-hour pilot movie six days prior to its premiere as a weekly series. The film featured a different actor in the role of Danny Williams before James MacArthur took over the role.

Handguns

Smith & Wesson Model 36

The main sidearm of the Five-O detectives is Smith & Wesson Model 36. Those who carry the handgun include Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord), Danny "Danno" Williams (James MacArthur), Chin Ho Kelly (Kam Fong) and Kono Kalakaua (Zulu). McGarrett's Model 36 is carried in a shoulder rig and sports custom wood grips. Also seen in the hands of Lt. Phil Kalama in Season 1's "Along Came Joey" (S1E19).

The Smith & Wesson Model 15 is seen used by HPD Officers as their standard issue sidearm. In "King of the Hill" (S1E14), Lance Corporal John T. Auston (Yaphet Kotto) is seen holding the revolver while hallucinating that he is still in Vietnam. Also seen in the hands of a peace activist/murderer in Season 1's "Not That Much Different" (S1E22).
