Breathless (1960)

Breathless (À bout de souffle) is a 1960 film directed and written by Jean-Luc Godard which was part of the French New Wave (along with such films as Truffaut's The 400 Blows and Resnais' Hiroshima Mon Amour). The film is notable for it's spontaneous filmmaking style, such as innovative use of jump cuts, tracking shots, as well as using natural lighting and writing the lines for the day's filming that morning. Godard also gave the actors the lines during filming, and rarely rehearsed with them for a naturally spontaneous quality.
