MP40

What appear to be MP40's are used by German commandos and Neville Sinclair (Timothy Dalton) during the shootout at the Griffith Park Observatory. As the film is set in 1938, the use of the MP40 would be an anachronism, but artistic license "could" be claimed by saying they are meant to depict the earlier MP38 (which would be less available as a prop).

Trivia Section

  • The yellow race plane that Cliff Secord (Bill Campbell) pilots is a Gee Bee "Z".
  • "Beemans" (the gum chewed by Howard Hughes) is the lucky gum of pilots.
  • One of Neville Sinclair's final lines is "I'll miss Hollywood", and he does, as he crashes into the "land" portion of the "Hollywoodland" sign.
