Ashes and Diamonds (Polish Title: Popiół i diament) is a 1958 World War II drama directed by Andrzej Wajda. An Armia Krajowa (Polish underground forces which were loyal to the Polish government in exile) fighter Maciek and his commander Andrzej are ordered to kill Communist leader Szczuka on the last days of World War II. But by mistake they killed ordinary workers from a cement plant.
