Ruger Vaquero
Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) carries this single-action revolver in a hip holster as his duty sidearm throughout the film and uses it to threaten and scare the stranded kids and at one point even fires a few rounds near them in the dirt while he has them lay on the ground.
Smith & Wesson Model 27
The hitchhiker (Lauren German) is seen using a 3.5" .357 Smith & Wesson Model 27 Magnum revolver in the film. The Sheriff later takes the gun and puts it in his empty ankle holster.
