Remington Model 700PSS Sniper Rifle with Harris Bipod - .300 Win Mag

The Remington Model 700PSS rifle is a "Police Sharp Shooter" (hence the name) variant of the Model 700 that Remington marketed to both Law Enforcement and Military Customers. It is used widely by Police SWAT units and Military sharp shooters. The most common variants of this rifle are chambered in .308 NATO or .300 Win Mag. The Army uses versions of this rifle that have the long action of the .300 Win Mag, but are barreled for the .308 cartridge.

Note that there is NO SUCH THING as a "Remington PSS700", despite the constant repetition of this mistake on imfdb pages. The design is called the "Remington Model 700PSS".
I suppose we should change all pages of the M1 Carbine to "United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1" then...

  • L.A.P.D. SWAT officers in S.W.A.T. (fitted with folding bipods, with and without camo paint schemes)
  • Mark Wahlberg as Bob Lee Swagger in Shooter - this is the rifle he purchases at the sporting goods store and uses until the end of the film.
