Richard Todd was a British actor probably best known for his role as Wing Commander Guy Gibson in The Dam Busters. Unfortunately, he is less well known for his wartime service as a British paratrooper during World War II, helping secure the Pegasus Bridge during the invasion of Normandy. There he met up with Major John Howard, whom he would play during The Longest Day while another actor played the role of Captain Richard Todd.
