Revision as of 01:31, 22 December 2011
The following firearms were used on the television series The Dukes of Hazzard:
Smith & Wesson Model 10
In the pilot episode, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 10 before switching to the Model 15 he uses throughout the rest of the series. Quint McQuade (Cliff Peellow) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 10 in Episode 3 when he goes to Hazzard County to get his money back from Mary Kaye Porter (Jeanne Wilson). Rocky Marlowe's thugs, Herky (Bob Hoy) and Manny (Pat Renella) also use Model 10s in Episode 10. The leader (Leonard Stone) of the bank-robbing gang in Enos Strate to the Top uses a Model 10. Deputy Cletus Hogg (Rick Hurst) carries a Model 10 during his run on the series in the second, third, and fourth seasons. In "The Hazzardville Horror", a two-man burglary gang dressing as plumbers carries a Model 10. The Finchburg sheriff (Ross Elliott) in Baa, Baa, White Sheep carries a Model 10.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
The standard sidearm of Hazzard County Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best) is an ivory-gripped Smith & Wesson Model 15. His deputy, Enos Strate (Sonny Shroyer), also carries a standard Model 15. A villain in The Great Santa Claus Chase holds a Model 15 on the Dukes.
Smith & Wesson Model 29
Lester Star's (Ronnie Schell) bodyguard Jojo (Wallace Marck) carries two Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolvers in a shoulder rig in Episode 2. Luke Duke (Tom Wopat) briefly disarms him of them and uses them to intimidate Star, but is forced to leave them when the police raid the recording studio.
Smith & Wesson Model 66 Snubnose
Leo (Colby Chester) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 66 with white grips in Episode 3 when he accompanies Quint McQuade to Hazzard County.
Trapdoor Springfield Rifle
Jesse Duke (Denver Pyle) keeps a Trapdoor Springfield Rifle hung in his kitchen.
Ithaca 37
Big John (Claude Humphrey), one of Manny's gang, fires an Ithaca 37 at the Dukes in Episode 4.
Star Model BM
Manny's girlfriend carries a Star Model BM in Episode 4 until she is tackled by Bo and Luke. ATF agent Roxanne Huntley (Carlene Watkins) carries a Model BM in Episode 5. She is briefly disarmed by Luke after she attempts to capture them, but she later uses the gun to attempt to arrest them at the end of the episode.
Browning Auto-5
Several Browning Auto-5 shotguns are used throughout the show, some with raised-ribbing barrels. Rosco (James Best) carries an Auto-5 when he and Boss Hogg go "undercover" to catch the Dukes making moonshine in Episode 5.
Remington 870 Wingmaster
Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) has a Remington 870 Wingmaster when going "undercover" in Episode 5. Agent Callas (Bill Cort) and Agent Swan (Bob Shaw) each carry an 870 in Episode 6 when arresting the Dukes for running guns. Jesse Duke (Denver Pyle) also handles one when Bo and Luke are suspected of robbery in Episode 8, but it is taken by Neil Bishop (Fred McCarran).
Uzi
Several Uzi submachine guns are seen in Swamp Molly's truck, driven by Luke in Episode 6. Two Uzis with brown stocks, similar to the ones in Swamp Molly, are seen in The Meeting.
M16
Several MGC M16 replica assault rifles are seen in Swamp Molly's truck, driven by Luke in Episode 6. The two drug smugglers in Mason Dixon's Girls, Beckett and Moss, each have M16 replicas.
MP40
An MP40 is seen hanging on the side of Swamp Molly's truck in Episode 6.
Single Action Army
One of Boss Hogg's guards (Gordon Hurst) at the chop shop in Episode 9 uses a Single Action Army. Harkness's men in the 2nd season episode Gold Fever Buck (Bruce M. Fischer) and Dusty (Hunter von Leer) also carry Single Action Army's.
Colt Detective Special (3rd Generation)
Two of the workers at Boss Hogg's chop shop in Episode 9 use third-generation Colt Detective Special revolvers. All the stereotypical mobsters in The Meeting carry third-generation Detective Specials (including one played by Marc Lawrence), as well as many other villains in the second and third seasons.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
One of the workers at Boss Hogg's chop shop in Episode 9 draws a Smith & Wesson Model 36 on the Dukes when they show up with their bows.
Colt Detective Special (1st Generation)
Mary Beth (Stella Parton) carries a Detective Special while posing as a police officer from Springfield in Episode 10, but Rocky Marlowe (Leo Gordon) takes it and fires at her and the Dukes. A bank robber in the Season 3 episode Enos Strate to the Top has a nickel Detective Special. In The Late J.D. Hogg, Linc McKay carries a nickel Colt DS. A bank robber in Mrs. Rosco P. Coltrane carries a nickel Detective Special in a shoulder holster.
High Standard FLITE KING K-120
The bank robbers (Arte Johnson) and Avery Schreiber) use High Standard FLITE KING K-120 shotguns during their robbery of the Hazzard County Bank in Episode 13. Tom Colt (Burton Gilliam) is later given the shotgun to hold by the bank robbers.
Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snubnose
H.H. Harkness (Curtis Credel) carries a nickel Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snub in the 2nd season episode Gold Fever. The female villian Stacy Williams (Doris Dowling) in Treasure of Hazzard carries a nickel Model 10 snub also.
M1911A1
In The Meeting, Cooter Davenport (Ben Jones) finds a nickel M1911A1 in one of the mobster's cars.
M1928A1 Thompson
An M1928A1 Thompson can be spotted under the Uzis in the mobsters' car in The Meeting.
bolt-action sniper rifle
A mob hitman in the 2nd season episode Witness for the Persecution carries a bolt-action sniper rifle, assembling it inside a car in one scene.
Winchester Model 1873
Jesse Duke (Denver Pyle) fires a Winchester Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine to cover Bo and Luke's escape in Witness for the Persecution. A drug smuggler in Mason Dixon's Girls also fires one during the chase scene.
Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snubnose
Big Jim Downey (George Murdock) pulls a Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snubnose on Boss Hogg in Granny Annie.
suppressed rifle
The girls that strip cars in Arrest Jesse Duke use a suppressed rifle to force the cars off the road.
Beretta 950 Jetfire
Gaylord Duke (Simon MacCorkindale), posing as an English member of the Duke family, briefly uses a Beretta 950 Jetfire to threaten the Dukes.
double-barreled shotgun
Many farmers on the show can be seen using double-barreled shotguns, including Jesse Duke (Denver Pyle). A villain in The Great Santa Claus Chase also carries one.
Smith & Wesson Model 586
Dr. James Fenwick (Whit Bissell) in Treasure of Hazzard uses a Smith & Wesson Model 586.
Colt Official Police
Deputy Enos State (Sonny Shroyer) uses a Colt Official Police in Officer Daisy Duke. Daisy (Catherine Bach), as a deputy, takes his Official Police when he is wounded but it is taken by her kidnappers. When Sheriff Byrd (Dick Sargent) was briefly introduced to replace Rosco, he too carried an Official Police. It is also the sidearm of Texas Ranger Jude Emery (John Shearin) during his episode. Sheriff Buster Moon (James Hampton), another potential Rosco replacement, uses an Official Police in his episode.
sawed-off double-barreled shotgun
A member of Snake Harmon's gang trailed by Jude Emery in the second season uses a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun.
Star Model B
Some of the drug smugglers in Mason Dixon's Girls carry Star Model B pistols (most likely to stand in for M1911A1s).
Non Gun Bolt-Action Rifle
The bank robbers' ringleader (Leonard Stone) uses a non gun bolt-action rifle when looking for the Dukes in Enos State to the Top. I don't know if there is a Non Gun Bolt-Action Rifle, but it looks fake to me. (The rifle looks like an old Stevens Gallery Gun, which was a .22 Short bolt action with a deep recessed crown.)
Martin Warthog bow
Since they are on probation, Bo Duke (John Schneider) and Luke Duke (Tom Wopat) are forced to use a Martin Warthog bow and arrow, often with dynamite attached, as their weapon.
Boss Hogg's gun collection
Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) keeps a collection of long guns on a wall in his office, two rifles and a pump shotgun. The shotgun appears to be a High Standard, similar to the one used by the bank robbers in Episode 13.
