Crime Story (1986-1988)

Crime Story was a television crime series co-created by Chuck Adamson and executive produced by Michael Mann. Set during the early 1960's, the series was based on cases that Adamson investigated during his time as a Chicago police detective. Dennis Farina (who also was a Chicago police officer) starred in the series as a Chicago police detective in the Major Crimes Unit who was determined to take down the young ambitious mobster Ray Luca (Anthony Denison). The series aired on NBC and for the first season was set in Chicago and then in Las Vegas for the rest of the series.

Colt M1911A1

An M1911A1 with pearl grips and notably an elastic band around the grip safety to enable quicker firing is the sidearm carried by Lt. Mike Torello (Dennis Farina). In the pilot episode, a nickel plated M1911A1 is used by one of Luca's men in the mall shootout.
