Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) is a film adaption of the stage musical by the same name. It is a rock opera about the last weeks of the life of Jesus Christ. The film has many intentional anachronisms, including the inclusion of firearms. Actors Ted Neeley (Jesus Christ) and Carl Anderson (Judas Iscariot) received Golden Globe nominations for their appearances.
