Strike Back: Project Dawn is the sequel to Chris Ryan's Strike Back, starring Phillip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton as two special forces soldiers who must team up to thwart the plans of a Pakistani terrorist named Latif. The ten-episode series aired on Sky1 in the United Kingdom and Cinemax in the United States, and was filmed in South Africa and Hungary.
The following weapons are featured in Strike Back: Project Dawn:
Warning: Potential Spoilers Ahead!
Handguns
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS (or possibly its South African clone, the Vektor Z88) are used by Abasi Sawalha (David Dennis) and Shabbir (Zee Sulleyman) when they launch a terrorist attack on a New Delhi Hotel in episodes 1 & 2. Sergeant Michael Stonebridge (Phillip Winchester) uses a captured Beretta 92FS for much of episode 2. In episode 6, Stonebridge's Vektor SP1 turns into a Beretta due to a continuity error. Donoghue (Peter O'Meara), a KFOR officer, uses a Beretta in episodes 7 & 8.
Beretta 92SB
Sergeant Kennedy (Matthew Leitch) uses a Beretta 92SB while aiding Scott in episode 8. In episode 9, Latif (Jimi Mistry) uses a 92SB to execute one of his colleagues. In the series finale he uses the same gun to kill a Pakistani Presidential Candidate and Colonel Grant (Amanda Mealing) "uses" one in the season finale.
Glock 17
Stonebridge, Captain Kate Marshall (Eva Birthistle) and Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) all use Glock 17 pistols in Cape Town during episode 3. A mercenary also uses a Glock in episode 5.
Glock 17 (Mounted in a CAA Tactical RONI-G1)
Stonebridge wields a Glock 17 mounted in a CAA Tactical RONI-G1 with an Aimpoint sight in episode 4 when he attempts to rescue Scott and Marshall.
Walther P38
One of Latif's accomplices uses a Walther P38 while capturing Iman Zubeda (Sasha Behar) in episode 2.
Star Model BS/Model Super
Julian Buckley (Patrick Walton) uses a Star Model Super while being pursued by Scott in the streets of Cape Town.
SIG-Sauer P226
In a behind-the-scenes featurette, an armorer teaches the cast to shoot with a SIG Sauer P226R. Stonebridge and Scott both use older P226 pistols when rescuing an EU delegation in Kosovo during episode 7. In episode 10 Scott and Stonebridge use P226's, as do Colonel Grant (Amanda Mealing), Sergeant Julia Richmond (Michelle Lukes) and a Section 20 guard.
Vektor CP1
Cunningham's accomplice Neve (Orla O'Rourke) uses a Vektor CP1 in episode 4. Later in the episode, Section 20 commander Colonel Eleanor Grant (Amanda Mealing) uses a suppressed CP1 to excecute Connelly in Mozambique.
Vektor SP1
One of the suspects that Stonebridge chases in episode 3 fires a Vektor SP1. A armored truck guard (Richard Lunkuku) also uses a Vektor SP1 in the same episode. Irish terrorist David Connolly (Liam Cunningham) uses a two-tone Vektor SP1 with a compensator as his sidearm. An assassin employed by arms dealer Gerald Crawford (Iain Glen) uses one with a suppressor in episode 5 when he tries to kill Stonebridge and Major Oliver Sinclair (Rhashan Stone). Stonebridge takes the pistol and uses it during a three-way gun battle later in the episode when he attempts to rescue Crawford's daughter Claire (Laura Haddock) in return for Crawford's cooperation.
Tokarev TT-33
A kidnapper in episode 7 uses a suppressed Tokarev TT-33 while taking the EU delegation hostage.
Unknown Pistol
Scott uses a compact pistol, concealed in a human head, to escape from a prison truck in episode 8.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3 (With RIS)
Heckler & Koch MP5A3s with RIS and a variety attachments are used by Stonebridge, Marshall and other Section 20 commandos. Indian National Security Guard (NSG) commandos also use MP5A3s while storming the hotel in episode 2. Major Oliver Sinclair (Rhashan Stone) and Sergeant Julia Richmond (Michelle Lukes) use MP5s without any attachments while defending Section 20 headquarters from a terrorist attack in episode 10. Hungarian SWAT officers in the same episode utilize MP5A3s with EOTech sights.
Heckler & Koch MP5K
Scott uses a MP5K with a S-E-F trigger group in episode 8 while freeing kidnapped women from Kosovan warlord Fatmir Hasani. In episode 9, Stonebridge and Scott use suppressed MP5Ks with tactical lights while searching a Hungarian compound for Latif.
Heckler & Koch MP5KA5
A Heckler & Koch MP5KA5 is used by Stonebridge in Vienna during episode 7, which is distinguishable by its four-position navy trigger group and the lack of sights for easy concealment. The same weapon is later used by Scott in episode 9, and later in episode 10 when he attempts to rescue a kidnapped Colonel Grant.
Sa. Vz.61 Skorpion
An attacker on a motorcycle wields a Sa. Vz.61 Skorpion in episode 7.
Sa.24
Latif's right hand man Usmanov (Ferenc Lengyel) uses a Czech Sa.24 submachine gun in episodes 9 and 10. Some of Latif's men who attack Section 20 in episode 10 also wield Sa.24s.
Shotguns
Unknown compact pump-action shotgun
Teague (Brian Milligan) uses a compact pump action shotgun during the armored truck heist in episode 3. The shotgun appears to be the same one used during the the first series.
Armsel Striker
One of the armored truck guards fires an Armsel Striker at Connolly's gang during the heist.
Benelli M4 Super 90
Austrian prison guards hold Benelli M4 Super 90 shotguns in episode 7.
Rifles
AKM
The terrorists standing behind a captured John Porter (Richard Armitage) in episode 1 hold AKM rifles. Several Indian soldiers are also seen with AKMs in New Delhi, as are Sudanese soldiers in episode 6. Some gunmen in Kosovo also use AK-63s (the Hungarian version of the AKM) in episodes 7 & 8, most likely because those episodes were filmed in Hungary.
AKMS
Most of the Pakistani terrorists who attack the New Delhi hotel use the AKMS. Stonebridge and Scott also use captured AKMS rifles at various points in the series. Stonebridge's Sudanese guide Jacoub (Ahmed Salis) uses an AKMS in episode 6 while fighting Janjaweed militiamen.
Zastava M70AB2
Naveed (Neet Mohan), one of the terrorists, uses a Zastava M70AB2 during the hostage situation at the New Delhi hotel.
Norinco Type 56
Several Janjaweed militiamen in episodes 5 and 6 wield Norinco Type 56 rifles with attached bayonets.
Norinco Type 56-1
Stonebridge holds a Norinco Type 56-1 while trying to comfort Claire.
Vektor R5
In episode 5, Scott captures a customized Vektor R5 with a UTG quad rail mount, ERGO rail covers, an Aimpoint sight and a 3x Aimpoint magnifier. He uses the rifle for most of the gun battle with the Janjaweed militia and Crawford's mercenaries before giving it to Stonebridge, who uses it throughout episode 6. Two of the mercenaries also utilize modified R5s with bipods, scopes and other accessories in battle at the end of episode 5.
Vektor R5 (Modified to resemble AKMS)
A number of Pakistani terrorists use the Vektor R5 rifle modified to resemble the AKMS in episodes 1 and 2. Scott and Stonebridge also use the weapons at various points in the series. Janjaweed militiamen in episodes 5 and 6 also use many modified R5s.
Vektor R6
At the beginning of episode 5, Scott uses a Vektor R6 rifle to track Crawford as he makes an arms deal in Nairobi. Janjaweed leader Tahir (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) uses a Vektor R6 with a AK-74-style muzzle brake while holding Dr. Claire Somersby hostage in episodes 5 & 6.
M4A1 Carbine
Several Section 20 commandos use the M4A1 carbine with various attachments during raids. American KFOR soldiers in episodes 7 and 8 also use M4A1s.
Norinco Type 84S
Neve uses a customized Norncio Type 84S during the armored truck heist in episode 3. The rifle is modified with an AK-74-style muzzle brake, picatinny rails and a reflex sight. Damien Scott is seen with one in promotional material. Tahir uses an unmodified Type 84S in episode 6, while Colonel Grant uses one with an EOTech sight when she rescues Stonebridge and Claire.
SA Vz.58 V
The bodyguards of warlord Fatmir Hasani (Mel Raido) use SA Vz.58 V rifles, including one with a GP-25 grenade launcher. In episode 9, Stonebridge and Scott also acquire Vz.58 Vs from some guards and use them to battle Chechen militants.
SA Vz.58 Tactical
Stonebridge and Scott use modernized SA Vz.58 assault rifles with tactical attachments in episode 7 while on a mission in Kosovo. They, and Georgian Special Forces troops use the same weapons in episode 9 while searching a bunker in Chechnya.
AK-47
Genuine AK-47 rifles are used by most of Hasani's henchmen in episodes 7 and 8. Scott uses one during the failed hostage exchange, and Stonebridge also gets a hold of an AK-47 while fleeing Hasani in episode 8. Chechen militants in episode 9 are all armed with AK-47s
Enfield L85A1
British KFOR soldiers in episode 8 hold Enfield L85A1 rifles with SUSAT scopes while guarding a checkpoint. The rifles are distinguishable as L85A1s rather than the L85A2s used in real life due to their rounded charging handles.
Arsenal AR-M4 SF
One of the terrorists who attacks Section 20 in episode 10 wields an Arsenal AR-M4 SF, as noted by the folding stock, built-in flashlight and waffle-pattern magazine.
Sniper Rifles
FN FAL
NSG sniper teams in New Delhi use FN FAL rifles to attack the terrorists in episode 2. One of Crawford's mercenaries later uses a FN FAL "G Series" in episode 5. Crawford uses an ELCAN-equipped FAL in episode 6 while surveying a Janjaweed encampment.
Unknown Bolt-action Rifle
Stonebridge uses a sniper rifle to survey the Janjaweed encampment in episode 6, which he later gives to Jacoub.
SVD Dragunov
An SVD Dragunov with a bipod, synthetic handguard and wooden stock is used by Stonebridge in Kosovo. One of Hasani's snipers also uses a Dragunov.
Machine Guns
Rheinmetall MG3
Tahir and other Janjaweed militiamen drive a Toyota Land Cruiser with a mounted MG3 machine gun in episodes 5 and 6.
Browning M2HB
Another Janjaweed truck has a mounted Browning M2HB.
FN Minimi
Scott steals a FN Minimi machine gun from Hasani's armory in episode 8, using it to destroy Hasani's base. A Georgian soldier aboard a helicopter also uses a Minimi in episode 9 to provide covering fire for Stonebridge and Scott as they flee from Chechen militants.
FN Minimi Para (L110A1)
A British soldier in episode 8 uses a FN Minimi Paratrooper while guarding a KFOR checkpoint.
Other
M84 Stun Grenade
Connolly uses M84 stun grenades to cover his escape in episode 4.
M67 Hand Grenade
A woman causes a diversion at the Janjaweed camp by detonating a M67 Hand Grenade in episode 6. Later, Najim (Siyabonga Xaba) throws M67 grenades to destroy a Sudanese government checkpoint.
